Outdoor Sport The Monregalese is an important center for hot air ballooning thanks to a micro-climate which is perfectly suited for the sport. Hot air balloons, or Mongolfieri as they are called in Italian, are common sights floating above the hills of the Monregalese and the Langhe. Each January, Mondovì's important RADUNO International ballooning competition attracts enthusiasts from around the world. There are seven public golf courses located throughout Cuneo Province. Their Alpine Golf guide describes the courses, the various levels of difficulty. Our town of Montaldo di Mondovì is currently developing Golf Club Alpi del Mare, a challanging nine-hole course with stunning views of the Alps. Horseback riding is a popular sport and there are several Equestrian clubs in the Monregalese. During the summer it is possible to take tours of the area on horseback. In the past, one of our neighbors has offered guided rides during August. Winter sports abound in the Monregalese. There are several world class ski facilities within 10 miles of Villa Favolosa. |
