The oldest part of the villa dates back to the end of the 1500's. Over the course of more than 400 years, the house was expanded and passed down through generations in the Roà Family. Prior to the second World War, the villa was transformed into a pensione offering room and board to guests. |

Pensione Roà was a popular summer destination for city dwellers from Turin and Genoa who were looking for a tranquil place to enjoy the fresh alpine air, walks in the woodlands, and the traditional cooking and wines of the Monregalesi.
We are happy to be able to continue our family's tradition of offering our guests authentic Piemontese Hospitality. |

Adjacent to Villa Favolosa is the Cappella di San Giuseppe (St. Joseph Chapel) which was built in 1630. The chapel's interior is a simple rendition of the baroque style which was so popular in Piemonte during the 17th century.
Centuries after it was built , the Cappella di San Giuseppe is still an important part in the lives of the inhabitants of our hamlet, Roapiana. Throughout the year festivals, rituals and celebrations still center around this small country chapel. |

The town of Montaldo di Mondovì is composed of several hamlets along the Corsaglia and Roburentello Valleys about 5 miles outside of Mondovì. With less than 600 inhabitants, Montaldo has a small population but is large in terms of territory, covering more than 65 sq. miles of land that ranges in altitude from 1,400 to 2,600 feet above sea level. Montaldo is literally at the feet of the Alps, where grapevines meet hazelnut and chestnut trees, and the woodlands are rich with porcini mushrooms. |
